EchoAnalysis Echocardiogram Display and Research tool In 1997, we were asked to compare hundreds of pre-existing echocardiograms at the core lab of the University of Pennsylvania. At that time, there was no way to perform measurements on videotaped studies. Commercial devices were hard to find. It wasn't practical to pull our clinical machines out of service for this project, so we wrote the first version of EchoAnalysis using a Macintosh computer with a digital capture card. The utility of this type of program soon became evident. In 2000, we wrote a commercial version, which was used by researchers as well as doctors involved in evaluating patients who had taken diet drugs. In 2005, we expanded EchoAnalysis yet again, including the addition of EA Central - a centralized database that manages every aspect of multi-center clinical echocardiogram trials including image and data transmission to a central server. Our present version (5.0) is a complete echocardiogram clinical study management tool with numerous helpful features. Who Created EchoAnalysis? Doctors. Doctors who know computers and how to make them work for us.
